Corey Chivers, a doctoral student in Biology at McGill University, took bike accident data acquired and published by The Gazette and mapped it over time.
The result is this hypnotic map showing each incident on the island of Montreal, with peaks in summer months and the odd collision in the frigid winter.
Chivers made this during Saturday’s Hack Ta Ville hackathon using R. He noticed a mid-summer drop in accident rates around the month of August, which made him curious to explore more.
