An accident on the set of the movie Resident Evil: Retribution, being filmed in Toronto, injured 16 people and sent 10 to 12 of them to a hospital today (Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2011).
The actors were on an elevated platform that was on wheels. They fell when the platform moved (or collapsed depending on which report one reads.)
The actors were wearing gory zombie makeup, which initially led police and paramedics to think that the injuries were even worse than they really were.
The Ontario Ministry of Labour will investigate the accident.
The movie stars Milla Jovovich, though she was not present at the time of the accident.
